humans are funny animals.

we move to places where it gets ungodly cold in the winters, then choose to stay there throughout said ungodly winters. then, on top of it, we pave all our pathways over with asphalt or concrete, an open invitation for ice, that eternal foe of balance and foot control, to take over.

from there, we slip, stutter and fall all willy nilly, necessitating not only the exploration of ways to combat the ice, but also the employment of people who will perform this task for the welfare of the public at large.

one might think that all of this could have been avoided by re-examining the way that we pave our roads, or perhaps, a re-examination of where we live in a permanent fashion.

or maybe taking a spill yesterday with $2000 worth of gear in my bag just has me pontificating about my own welfare.

by either account...

tchau,
bear.
